Re-food 4 Good was founded in Portugal on 18 July 2011 to serve the Refood movement. A local response to surplus food and unmet need became a shared purpose.

Public good, recognised.
On 15 April 2013, the association received Portuguese IPSS status: a private institution serving the public good.
